A Message from National President

National President

My Fellow Supporters and Members

Welcome to our website! The National Conference of Puerto Rican Women (NACOPRW) was founded in 1972 as a non-partisan, not for profit organization. Our mission is to promote the involvement of Puerto Rican and other Hispanic women in the social, economic, and political structures of their communities. NACOPRW serves as a catalyst for the fostering and development of leadership among young women through participation in cultural activities, community involvement, and other avenues. We strive to preserve the heritage and rights of Puerto Rican and other Hispanic women through our mentorship and leadership training conference and workshops that are geared to prepare our youth for a better tomorrow.

As NACOPRW's newly-elected National President, I'm looking forward to working together with all our sister chapters, members and friends around the country to plan for and gather at our 39th Annual Leadership Training Conference to be held November 9-11, 2012 in Chicago, Illinois. The National Conference is a place to renew our energies and refine our skills as NACOPRW leaders and members. We've formed and will continue to form partnerships and alliances with such groups as the National Women's History Museum, Vision 2020, the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda, and Aspira in order to collaborate and promote our mission. Please take a few moments to visit each chapter's website as they share with you their local activities and involvement in their cities and communities. We look forward to your participation in our annual conference and ask that you save the dates and continue to visit our website as we provide you with ongoing updates.

Respectfully Yours, Vilma Colom

National President, NACOPRW
